The P-51 Car and WWII Fighter Plane Connection.... This car is a creation of Jack Roush and is also a tribute to his friend Col Bud Anderson and his North American P-51 Fighter Plane which was named “Old Crow” Bud Anderson was a WWII ace with the 357th fighter group that was part of the 8th Air Force stationed in England during the war. The P-51 is considered by many to be the best fighter of WWII, its looks and sound are unmistakable. The Roush Mustang shares the same checkered colors as the nose marking on Anderson’s plane and also has a paint scheme resembling the color of the plane, including the Olive Drab Hood Stripe which was also painted on the upper cowl of the plane to reduce sun glare. The car was marketed using the number 51 - there were 151 P-51 Roush Mustangs made, they are modified to produce 510 HP and 510 Lbs torque. It is complete with all Ford and Roush window stickers, owner's manuals, etc,. These cars rarely come up for sale so if you are into unique performance cars and WWII airplanes, this car is a must have!!! As always, a clean Carfax is on file and remember, "Life is too short to drive boring cars"
